In festive environments, situations involving gender-based violence, emotional distress, anxiety attacks or discomfort can arise quickly, in contexts marked by noise, crowds, fatigue and heightened emotions.
In these moments, improvisation can put both the people involved and the teams at risk.
The Souk Rassek outreach initiative is built around a visible, attentive and human presence on the ground. Trained volunteers move throughout the event to identify, prevent, de-escalate and support situations involving vulnerability or violence.
Preparing teams in advance with the right approach and crisis management tools makes it possible to respond with calm, consistency and humanity. Outreach places protection, care and coordination at the heart of the intervention, in close connection with the listening unit and the event teams.
Outreach is not a control mechanism, but a presence-based approach. Its aim is to create a reassuring environment, remind people that support is available, and accompany them with respect, without judgment or intrusion.

Outreach: Active Presence, Prevention & Mediation
Outreach is a core component of Souk Rassek. It is a mediation and outreach practice deployed directly within the festival environment. Teams move through different areas of the event to make the initiative visible, foster a general sense of safety, identify potentially risky situations or early warning signs, and respond quickly to situations involving gender-based violence, anxiety attacks or vulnerability.
