Building a Culture of Care in Festive Spaces
Souk Rassek is an awareness initiative built on a strong belief: preventing gender-based violence requires both training and mediation.
In festive environments, where emotions move quickly and certain situations can be difficult to express or address directly, the listening unit becomes a key space. It provides protection and support, raises awareness, and helps promote and share practices rooted in kindness and care.
The listening unit supports the festival as a whole. It welcomes people experiencing gender-based violence, as well as those who feel anxious, unsafe or simply out of place. It also serves as a point of reference, reminding us that mental health and care are an integral part of the cultural experience.

Training: An Essential Foundation
Kindness cannot be improvised. It is built, developed and shared.
At Souk Rassek, everyone involved in the listening unit receives prior training, including clinical psychologists, legal professionals, sociologists and volunteers, most of whom are psychology students.
Practical guide
Diversifying Tools to Reach Wider Audiences
The diversity of mediation tools is one of our strengths. Forum theatre, games, artistic workshops, visual materials and embodied experiences allow us to engage with different audiences, each with their own sensitivities and levels of engagement.
This diversity makes awareness-raising more engaging and meaningful. It allows us to respect each person’s pace and create connections between information, emotion and reflection.
